⚠️ Historical Document Notice
This page contains historical documentation from the BOA/RCA/RP era. It is not the current authoritative specification of VCDesign. Please refer to the current Core specifications (core/core.yaml, core/policies.yaml, core/metrics.yaml) for authoritative guidance.

This concept has been superseded by the Core + Policies + Metrics model. Refer to specs/core/ for current definitions.

This document represents the conceptual lineage that led to the current model.

VCDesign Constitution

This constitution exists for
systems that have reached the point where they need it,
and yet continue to change,
and for those who intend to make them change.

We consider this to be
one of the correct answers.

Phase 0:The Era Without a Constitution

Not all systems
have a constitution from the start.

At this stage,
judgments were not explicitly defined,
and responsibility was taken outside the structure.

Every design was a correct answer,
success was measured only by results,
and continuity was sustained by human burden.

The absence of a constitution was
a premise, not a lack,
and yet the system moved.

Phase 1:Constitution for Exploration

However,
we cannot continue to measure everything by results alone.

As the speed of change increased
and the number of attempts multiplied,
results appeared with delay,
and failures were repeated.

At this stage,
the system began to be designed
with exploration itself as a premise for the first time.

To maximize output.
To accept change without fear.
To tolerate waste.

And thus,
it came to have a constitution for moving forward.

Phase 2:The Era of Transition and Mixture

A constitution for moving forward
is not always sufficient.

Explorations overlap,
and the system increases in complexity.

At this stage,
boundaries were set for some judgments,
while other judgments
were still left to exploration.

Boundaries existed,
but they were not comprehensive,
and judgments coexisted while being fragmented.

As the force of time
continued to place new boundaries,
human involvement did not decrease,
but rather had to lend its strength to new explorations.

The system continued to move,
but each judgment
required a different constitution.

Phase 3:VCDesign / VCD

We cannot leave judgment
fragmented any longer.

Let us design
the judgment itself.

It is not
to speed up exploration.
Nor is it to stop optimization.

It is to ensure that the time in which value is exerted,
is severed no longer
.

Judgment is
the locus of responsibility,
the thought of people,
and the act of passing on the value
that is the reason for the system's existence
to what comes next.

Here,
we design the behavior of people and systems.

Constitution Compatibility Matrix

This document records incompatibilities observed at this point in time.
It is not a prediction, recommendation, or moral judgment.

🏳️ Constitution Compatibility Matrix

VCDesign × Constitution Compatibility One-line Reason
VCDesign × Engagement Maximization ❌ No Infinite engagement conflicts with decision closure and human autonomy.
VCDesign × e/acc (Accelerationism) ❌ No Forced acceleration breaks value continuity across time.
VCDesign × Cost-Cutter ⚠️ Conditional Cost optimization is acceptable only while preserving human decision margin.
